EASTON, MARYLAND — Maryland Department of Aging lists the program as Senior Call Check and Social Connections. Eligibility is open to Marylanders age 60 and older, a weekly Live Call feature has been added, and Aging says the service is free to Maryland residents 60 and older.

Automated calls or text messages go out each day between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the hour the participant chooses. If there is no response, two more automated attempts follow, then an alternate contact is notified. If staff cannot reach an alternate, non-emergency service providers may be asked to conduct a welfare check. A Live option adds weekly check-ins from a live, trained representative on top of the daily automated contact.

Aging’s enrollment application form lists three ways to apply: complete the online form at seniorcallcheck.maryland.gov; mail the completed form to Senior Call Check and Social Connections, 4 N. Park Drive, Suite 202, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21030; or call 1-866-502-0560. The same form carries that Hunt Valley address and phone number.

Talbot County Commission on Aging’s resources page still lists Senior Call Check among partner programs as a free automated daily telephone service for Maryland residents age 65 and older.
