RICHMOND, VIRGINIA — The Chesapeake Baysox beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at CarMax Park.
Richmond scored in the first on an RBI single by Sabin Ceballos. Patrick Reilly kept Chesapeake within one through 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. Chesapeake broke through in the eighth when Wehiwa Aloy hit a three-run home run that scored Griff O’Ferrall and Frederick Bencosme.
Keagan Gillies earned the win with a scoreless inning. Alex Pham worked a hold, and Brock Moore recorded the save. Dale Stanavich took the loss after allowing the three eighth-inning runs. Aloy finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk. O’Ferrall went 2-for-5. Aron Estrada added a 2-for-4 day.
